Wendy Farfán was born in Chicago, Illinois. However, she spent her entire childhood in Mexico City and finished elementary school in Mexico City's public schools. She then migrated back to her hometown of Chicago where she finished high school at an Academy of the Chicago Public Schools. Wendy Farfan has an Associate Degree in Applied Science as a Computer Network Administrator, a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville Florida.

She has over 20 years of experience in the banking industry, where she has held leadership roles in several divisions, such as Underwriting, Compliance, Risk Management, Fraud Investigation, Loss mitigation, Consumer and Real Estate lending, Asset valuation, Offshore Training, Project Management, and Quality Control. Some of the banks she has worked for are JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Truist Bank, HSBC, and Citibank.

Wendy has volunteered for over 15 years on many local and state boards of directors and participated in hands-on projects such as door-to-door voter engagement, building homes for communities (Habitat for Humanity), lobbying in Tallahassee for the community’s best interest, participating in cleaning our beaches and the St Johns River, public speaking, marching and protesting for several causes, and had press conferences to advocate for the community’s rights. The organizations Wendy has volunteered for are the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) as a Florida State Board Director, the Democratic Hispanic Caucus of FL as the State Board Treasurer and Website Administrator, and the founder of the Duval County Democratic Hispanic Caucus. 

Wendy currently serves on the Executive Board for the Durbin Crossing Homeowners Association as the Vice President, the Durbin Crossing Architectural Control Committee as the Chairwoman, and the Vice President of the Jacksonville Mexican Chamber of Commerce. 

Wendy will continue her philanthropic dedication to the community by serving as the Chief Financial Officer of the Mexican Foundation of Florida and help Hispanic families in Florida.
